Microsoft WiFi To Offer Hassle Free Internet Service

Jun 04, 2015

Just as Google came up with a WiFi service, Microsoft is also said to be taking its steps towards providing internet access to users no matter where they go.

The new service by Microsoft, dubbed as ’Microsoft WiFi’ will be bringing hassle-free WiFi to users irrespective of their geographical location, as told by a representative, reports VentureBeat.

Adding more into this, there seems to be a website which portrays a coming soon message along with Microsoft WiFi logo. However, no more details have been given out by the company as of now.

VentureBeat also claims to have found the below given screenshot on the same website which was later replaced by a simple ’coming soon’ message.

But, we can pretty much do the guess work that, as most of Microsoft’s initiatives nowadays, the Microsoft WiFi app will be a cross-platform affair.

However, it seems that the Microsoft WiFi only be available at the time of launch to active Skype WiFi subscribers, employees of organisations with Microsoft Office 365 for Enterprise and customers who received a special WiFi offer from Microsoft.

In case if you haven’t heard, Skype WiFi is a service that lets users get online at over 2 million WiFi hotspots worldwide, paying with Skype Credit for the minutes used.

Though Microsoft WiFi appears to be the same idea, we feel it to be more than just a re-branding as it targets a much bigger audience with 10 million WiFi hotspots in 130 countries.
