TIMTOS 2015 leads the trend in smart manufacturing
Organized by TAITRA and TAMI, the Taipei International Machine Tool Show 2015 will be held from the 3rd until the 8th of March in TWTC Halls 1 & 3, the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall, and Taipei’s Expo Dome. TIMTOS 2015 is taking a leap into the trend of high productivity in automatic manufacturing. The aim is to stay in step with smart manufacturing trends. The United States’ AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Partnership) and Germany’s Industry 4.0 are the two leading forces in the smart manufacturing trend. This year at TIMTOS, many of the advanced manufacturers will showcase their achievements in the latest manufacturing trend. Most noticeably, FATEK of FEMCO, has poured its resources into total automation solutions and successfully produced two automatic alloy wheel production lines that can deal with alloy wheel production demands for both big trucks and ordinary sedans. Furthermore, Tonghai Machine, another machine tool giant known for advanced technology and high cost/ performance ratios, will present automatic production lines that integrate smart manufacturing, involving work piece recognition and automatic measurement & adjustment. The head of Tonghai Machine predicts that CNC alloy wheel production lines made in Taiwan are going to be the leading production lines in the industry. The move to automatic production by Taiwanese manufacturers is inevitable and the trend presents a massive business opportunity. Supported by its ICT industry, Taiwan is at the vanguard of such automation. The integration of machine tools and industrial robots epitomizes the idea of "servitization of manufacture, which is promoted by the Taiwanese government for its value-added purpose.
